UEA Storm Surge
Connecting research and communities
This was a collaborative project between local people of North Norfolk, a team of NUA fine art students and UEA climate research scientists.
Creating awareness of local storm surge damage
We were delighted to help UEA output a stunning three dimensional info graphic to communicate the concerns facing local people of North Norfolk. Following the storm surge damage and the impact to nature, UEA provided climate research to help understand and communicate what is happening.
The North Norfolk coastal villages had experienced damage to homes, business and experienced a long clean up process. The local fauna and flora also experienced salt water entering fresh water pools which has an impact to ecosystems, and storm damage to coastal paths had changed familiar landscapes. Flexibility to make the info graphic as current as possible and change when future research was published extended the use of the recycled infographic.
